About Pier 9:
https://www.autodesk.com/pier-9
"Launched in 2013, Autodesk Pier 9 was designed as a place to explore every stage of the process of making things, from idea to digital model to real-world physical product. In our state-of-the-art digital fabrication workshop, our community of technical experts and creative partners collaborate on projects that dissolve the boundaries between software and hardware.
What we learn at Pier 9 influences and inspires us to develop useful tools for the future of making things. Together, we’re discovering ways to advance 3D design and fabrication technology, to change design, engineering, and manufacturing as we know it."
My Role (Summer 2017):
As a Curriculum Creator I built content for the Pier 9 CNC education program, showcase the capabilities of our advanced fabrication tools, engage shop users more fully with digital prototyping, and inspire the Future of Making Things. The Curriculum Creator is responsible for designing, fabricating, and creating educational materials for new and compelling workshop projects that will be shared through our global curriculum. The focus of my internship was creating a collection of models in Fusion 360 that can be used to demonstrate concepts and workflows for programming CAM.
